A solo technical founder with a working product in the payments space needed to raise a seed round but had no investor network, no financial model, and a pitch that focused on features rather than market opportunity. We repositioned the narrative around a regulatory tailwind in the target market, built a bottoms-up financial model, structured the data room, and ran the investor outreach process alongside the founder.

Outcome

Closed a €4M seed round with three institutional VCs on founder-friendly terms. The company has since grown to 25 employees and is on track for a Series A within 18 months of closing.

Corporate Venture Arm: Sector Screening Program

Challenge

A European corporate with a newly formed venture arm wanted to deploy €20M across mobility and climate tech startups but lacked the internal capacity to source, screen, and evaluate early-stage deals at the pace required to compete with established VC firms.

Approach

We designed a structured deal evaluation framework, built a proprietary scoring model across 14 criteria, and embedded a screening team that reviewed 12 deals over a 4-month period. Each deal received a standardised investment memo with commercial analysis, financial model review, and management assessment.

Result

The corporate invested in 3 of the 12 screened companies, deploying €5.5M in the first tranche. Two of the three portfolio companies have since raised follow-on rounds at higher valuations, validating the screening methodology.
